Friday the 13th – 2009

We saw Friday the 13th, 2009 last night and completely LIKED it. Very good remake that was neither cheesy or dumb. Very well done, well shot, and good effects. It has an R rating so the killing is graphic, there are excellent sex scenes, a good amount of humor mixed in and they don’t have to hold back with the scary stuff. ALSO, the sound track and sound effects are VERY well done. The “scary” stuff is enhanced by the sound effects that are perfectly placed and executed.

Quarantine – A Shacky Bloody Mess

Filmed like the movie Cloverfield, it is completely shot from the view of a cameraman following a reporter. the reporter is doing a story on a group of firemen and goes along with them, only to stumble into an effected building where they are locked inside (by the authorities) while everyone turns into blood sucking rabid zombies. Just like Cloverfield it starts with about 30 minutes of the filming of a bunch of people while the reporter is doing film spots with the different firemen around the firehouse. this lets the viewer get to know each of the characters.

PETA’s Banned Super Bowl Ad

I will start by saying this – I LOVE MEAT. I eat it all of the time and have NO PROBLEM at all with eating meat. That being said this is a great ad that was banned by NBC and will not be shown on today’s Super Bowl broadcast. NBC rejected the video because of concerns over “rubbing pelvic region with pumpkin,” a woman “screwing herself with broccoli.” To funny! Enjoy the commercial. I did. Gas Below $2 – Woo Hoo

I just had to post my excitement at seeing gas BELOW $2 in Florida and Alabama. This can only be the start of gas prices dropping all over the country and hopefully continuing to drop right through the holidays. How great would it be if We see $1.50 or $1.25! that would be fantastic and really help out with having extra money for Christmas gifts and other expenses.

There is NO REASON that gas should go back up again in my opinion other then the gas companies raping us for profits and end of the year bonuses. In my opinion they have made enough at this point to stick it to us again during the holidays.

And hopefully if we can really start moving towards cars that don’t rely only on gas we could really move away from the coast associated with paying at the pump. Either way, it is going down currently and that is a positive for me. I’ll keep my fingers crossed for even lower prices.

Don’t Mess With the Zohan

I thought nothing could be worse then The Happening, but this piece of complete shit is quite possibly the single worst movie of 2008.

And it is my own fault for watching it. I had been told by EVERYONE that is SUCKED, but I still rented it. From the opening SECOND of the movie….it sucked. And not historically stupid Adam Sandler movies that were still funny. No, this was dumb, dumber and dumbest with barely a laugh the entire movie. There are about 100 cameo appearances from other actors and they suck also. It almost seems that Sandler has gotten so full of himself that he though he could put out a rotten movie and people would still go see it.

What boggles my mind is that this pile or horse shit had an estimated 90 MILLION DOLLAR budget. on the strength of Sandlers name it grossed just over 100 million in the US, making it barely pofitable (once you add in marketing and promotion, etc

Briefly the story is about Sandler playing The Zohan a super Mossad agent who has almost super powers, dances like a 70’s jackass and is an all around idiot. Instead of being a terrorist he would rather cut hair in NYC. The predictable movie has a dumb love story and we get to see Sandler have simulated sex with about 15 women over the age of 65, another pointless part of the movie.

Alternative Financial Bailout Plan

I’m against the $85,000,000,000.00 bailout of AIG. Instead, I’m in favor of giving $85,000,000,000 to America in a ‘We Deserve It’ Dividend.
To make the math simple, let’s assume there are 200,000,000 bonafide U.S. Citizens 18+. Our population is about 301,000,000 +/- counting every man, woman and child. So 200,000,000 might be a fair stab at adults 18 and up.

So divide 200 million adults 18+ into $85 billon that equals $425,000.00. My plan is to give $425,000 to every person 18+ as a We Deserve It Dividend.
